One blockchain. Different uses.
DigiByte is an open-source proof-of-work blockchain that began in 2014. DGB is its native coin, used for network fees. Its design targets 15-second blocks and uses five mining algorithms. A block interval is not a promise of finality; the confirmations you require depend on the transaction and risk.
DigiDollar is a separate protocol on the DigiByte network. Holding DGB does not automatically create DigiDollar. Minting requires a deliberate action in your own compatible Core wallet.
Your keys stay with you
A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys needed to move your funds. Losing a required key or wallet backup can mean losing access. Keep encrypted backups offline, test recovery with a small amount, and never give a website or helper your seed, private key, or wallet file.
DigiDollar Connect is a directory. It does not provide a wallet, verify a balance, or handle transactions.
